The 8th EGYPES (Egypt Energy Show) conference, held in Cairo from March 30 to April 1, with the central theme “Transforming Energy Through Collaboration, Action, and Realism”, was completed with absolute success. The conference was a point of reference for the global energy community, bringing local and international political actors, leaders and investors into meaningful dialogue. Through a dynamic program, the value of partnerships, pragmatic policymaking, and cross-border partnerships emerged as key factors in addressing today’s complex energy challenges.
Hellenic Hydrogen’s CEO, Dimitrios Triantafyllopoulos, took an active role in the conference’s proceedings, participating in the panel “Solving the hydrogen storage and transportation challenge through ammonia”, where the challenges of transporting hydrogen from remote production areas to urban and industrial centers were thoroughly analyzed. The conversion of hydrogen to ammonia was proposed as an effective solution for safer and easier distribution, while the need for clear safety policies and appropriate infrastructure for the conversion and use of ammonia was emphasized. Mr. Triantafyllopoulos also participated in the EGYPES 2026 Strategic Leadership Round Table on the topic: “From Resource to Resilience – Industrial Value Creation across Gas, Power, Petrochemicals and Hydrogen”, where it was extensively discussed how the strategic connection of natural gas, energy, petrochemicals and hydrogen can strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of the economy. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of aligning policies, infrastructure and investments for the sustainable development of the energy chain.
In the framework of the conference, Mr. Triantafyllopoulos met with the Ambassador of Greece, Mr. Nikolaos Papageorgiou, with whom they discussed, among other things, the possibilities and future prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the innovative field of hydrogen, as well as issues related to the wider energy sector.
