The energypress Hydrogen and Green Gases Forum, which took place on June 17, 2026 at the Wyndham Grand Athens Hotel, was completed with great interest and success.
The 4th Hydrogen & Green Gases Forum focused on the role of hydrogen and renewable gases as key pillars of the energy transition, at a time when the European strategy is adapting to the new geopolitical, economic and regulatory data. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to form a sustainable market in Greece, through the removal of institutional and administrative barriers, the strengthening of demand and the creation of appropriate incentives for investment.
The topics discussed extensively covered the course of domestic production of hydrogen, biogas, biomethane and bioLNG, utilizing European examples and best practices. At the same time, the contribution of technologies such as CCS to the decarbonization of industry and the development of the hydrogen economy was highlighted. An important part of the discussion also covered shipping, ports and transport, where hydrogen and renewable gases can support the green transition. Particular reference was also made to the financing prospects as well as to the opportunities and challenges faced by the sector in order to create a sustainable, resilient and competitive energy market.
